I don't know if there's a technical name for it but its the flap that closes off the vent. A while ago I grafted in a new cowl vent and have now discovered that there must be a difference between the Aussie 37s and the US 37s cause my flap is too large for the hole ( hmm....and the sailor said to the prostitute....bla ...bla...). I could modified the one I have, but it would be easier just to get the right flap....so...has anyone got one, or know where there's one....I believe any of the 36 to 40 Fords will fit. Thanks for any help

Have you thought about a fibreglass one? Maybe Wescott's do one. I know they do running boards etc, so maybe they do those too.

I just had a look at my Speedway catalogue. They have '34 cowl vents for around $55 US. Just had a thought though. Deuce Customs are now building '36 roadster bodies. Maybe they have a cowl vent that will do the job.. but it might be an Aussie one... not sure. Wouldn't hurt to ask them.

Yeah guys...thats an option but the flap is one of those items that doesn't seem to rust away like the vent so I would assume theres plenty hanging on shed hooks that are orphaned...I might chase up Bill Jansen, he's done a big clean up recently and might have a pile of them.
