Just reading the cruzin mag over the weekend (too damn hot to do much else) and noticed Carps was a contributor to the mag for a feature on the picnic.
What I wanna know is......... WHERES THE ROD RIDER?

Surely you couldve got his mug in there somewhere.......... a cardboard cutout or something? He's been a bit quiet since joining the taxpayers funded payroll

Anyway, some great pix there Carps.

Boris didn't make it to the Picnic this year...or the previous year, for that matter.....nor the Kustom Nationals.....Is there a theme developing here?!

Carps/Boris: Are you no longer on photogenic terms?

But why did you do a feature on the Picnic, Carps? I'm sure I met some guy that told me he was THE photographer for Cruzin.....but then, I met THREE people at the Kustom nats that said they were photographers for Cruzin..... I think they confused me for someone who could give a shit!!!

Who says Boris has to be there? He is THE rod rider after all.

Hey I know whats going on here, Carps is trying to make a corporate takeover of Boris' past-time.

Yeah..I noticed that as well....it was rather well covered by the big fella..a nice job.
Also, when Carps and Boris were at my place a while back, Carps took this pic. As soon as they arrived, Boris planted his arse into the roadster. Carps and me had to make vroom vroom noises for him

Why?? It meets the "Rod Rider Criteria"(TM). No roof.

Check out that leg room!!!

I saw that coverage too. Very nice work Big Guy, but I'd expect nothing less.

One day I'll get down there for the Picnic AND Kustom Nats... you have been warned!

Peddro, I don't believe you even asked that question. As you well know, I'll do whatever it takes to help further the cause of Kustoms Of Australia.

My friend Vincent De Rossi was at the picnic as the official photographer for Cruzin Magazine. However even tho he's the official photog, we both understand that neither of us can see everything nor will we see what we see from the same perspective. Understanding that and keeping in mind my statement above, I provide all my pics to Wayne and Gav on the understanding that thier using them will not in any way inhibit Vince being paid for doing his professional job as contracted and all I require in return is recognition for my work. KOA in return recieve the benefit from great publicity. The same is offered to Larry and in the past he's also published my pics.

Fact is in that issue of Cruzin the pics in the model car section are also my work and I think there's one or two others elsewehe in the mag. Likewise the feature on the first Nats in Cruzin no 31 was entirely my work, words and photos as was the pic on the masthead page. Most of you blokes were probably too busy pervin to read the credit at the bottom of the intro picture on page 14.

Fact is I've had my work published in many mags in many countries including Japan, Hungary, Britain and the United States (Rod & Kustom, Street Rodder, American Rodder and Rod Action), I think there may even have been some pics of mine in a recent Kiwi publication too.

I've also submitted work to US Custom Rodder at the request of the editor and maybe CKD will even publish some of the stuff they have.

Of course pretty much every issue of the KOA magazine Kustom Rodder, features a plethora of my words and pictures covering runs, model cars and even car features etc.

Not at all, in fact I like to think I'm helping him lift his game.

Not only do I help him improve his photography, by not logging on I help him become the second person here to make it to 1,000 posts.

Dunno about tht third person but it's likely you spoke with Vincent and maybe Niel Mathews who also works for Cruzin as a freelance or contract photographer. Same rule applies to Niel as to Vincent, especially since Niel and I have history dating back to the days when I was too young to join the Coachmen coz they were allegedly grown ups. Of course I knew better then and I know better now, but that's a whole different story.

In fact, Niel still has his rare as rockin horse poop '32 Chevy Touring which was once powered by the baddest sounding hot flathead in Melbourne

Which one was a roadster

Got a movie somewhere of Neil and Helen on the first day out with the new tourer back on with no interior.

And in fact, another Coachmen member, Bruce Phipps owned a mint 'flattie' powered '32 Chev roadster.

He was knocked off his motorcycle and killed by a truck on the way to work about six hours after we dropped him and his wife off to pick up their new baby son whostayed home with his grandparents whilst we all attended the second ASRF Nat's together.

The car remains in mint condition, although his son has no interest in it.
