Ok here goes
I have a pic that is suitable to go under my name, Everytime I update my profile, it accept the pic and I even see it when I go to the main index.
I then go to another site, when I come back all I get is the little red X.
I have tried this so many times always with the same result.

This is the URL for the pic.
I have tried it with and without %

G"Day Snooze,

This actuallya techlical thingy, rather than particularly something you are doing wrong.

It all has to do with filenames.
In the DOS / PC world you can have filenames with spaces in them.
BUT in the UNIX world (which is what most of the www servers are) does not like spaces in filenames.

Same goes for upper and lower case.
On a PC snooze.jpg reads exactly the same as SNOOZE.JPG, but on a UNIX server they are considered to be two totally seperate and different files.

So rename your file to flamedwillys.jpg and resend the file. Then use the new file name to make your avatar.

Now I can hardly wait to see it.
Better not be a little green Willys Pick-Me-Up!!

I'm sure everything you said is spot on Greg, but I fear the problems is actually the dreaded... "You can't link to a pic on my website from your website because I don't want you to" problem.

Clicking on the link gives me a Hotlinking error, whereas opening up a new browser and pasting in the URL works fine.

How about we do this snooze. I'll upload your pic to my server and you can link to it from there. If for some reason your pic is not showing up, it will mean that my website is down, then you will know not to waste any time browsing around all of my wonderful pics.

Let's see if it worked...

Here's the URL

http://www.the-rumbler.com/mates/flamedwillys.jpg

I do agree with Greg on the filenaming conventions though. Avoid spaces wherever you can. It just makes it easier. I renamed the file for good measure.

Hi Greg & Brootal
Thank you Gentlemen for putting me on the right track
I have just updated my profile with a spaceless pic, I said pic ok.

Anyone with decent eyesight would have noticed the space between the letters, now I feel complete. no not a complete idiot just complete.
Brootal , you just wanted an excuse to put one of my pics on your web site didn't you.

No. I just like to help people out. Doesn't cost me anything... yet!

And I knew it wouldn't work the other way.
