I want to shave the door handles so am looking at these remote door poppers. Does anyone know where I can purchase such a kit or how I would go about making it up?

I'd hate to be a party pooper, but I have heard that you cant shave the handles any more under the new regulations. I'd double check.

Thanks Bcal, I never even thought of jaycar, D'uh. After doing a bit of searching it seems I can use a few things of theirs to make something up.

Cyber600, I have a mate who is currently building up a mini truck with shaved handles and he seems to have no problems with the law as such.
Ill look into it though, thanks.

You can have shaved door handles, but you must have a mechanical means of opening the doors from the inside. Some engineers also want a mechanical means of opening the doors from the outside, too. I argued my case when I pointed out that childproof door locks on most late 80s and 90s cars rendered the door openers inopperable. You should refrain from calling them "shaved doors" when inspection time comes. It is a "keyless entry system".

Thaks Choco, sheds a little more light on the subject. I will talk to an engineer beforehand though to make sure everything is going to be ok.

Just to cap on the subject. This may be of interest to others on here.

I have found a place in Melbourne that is about to start importing from Autoloc over in the States.

His name is Kevin and runs Hotrod Hardware.
His number is (03) 9752 6555
