For anyone that's interested, I spents a few hours putting this onto my site. The tourist stuff will come later.

Excellent report there Pep.
Now Boris is going to have to lift his game.

I heard that the drags were cancelled because they were organised thru the local police boys club and that at the eleventh hour one of the head cops in Sydney wouldn't sign the sanction.

The silver Jailbar is owned by Terry Levin from the Shifters and was mostly built by Craig Harris who owns the hand built roadster pickup next to it. Terry's a pretty big guy so Craig had to extend the back of the cab to fit him in. It features VN V8 running gear and Jag FE.

The Chev sloper is owned by Rod Turner from Newcastle and yep the donk is over the top.

Thanks mate...Boris has no concern about me...I'm just a plonker trying to tell it the way I saw it......The drags is still a bitter taste in my mouth. I had a lengthy conversation with 2 local guys who happen to tell me the whole story...They drag a clevo powered sigma and were also looking forward to the drags...The insurance was going to be 8 grand...The local organiser was going to bank roll it but wanted input from the organisers as well. I think they done their sums and calculated the responses they got with the entry forms and decided they would need to dip into the profits too much....so while they procrastinated about it, time went on until it was too late, even for the local organiser to do anything about it.
The question still begs...how come the local organisers can put on these events regularily with a lot less participants and still not be out of pocket. It was a huge let down for many, not just the rodders.

I might have to patent my website desing methinks.

Still waiting for the pics to download... damn dialup!!!

I'll critique it later.

10 mins later...

After the pics eventually loaded (after timing out once), I had a look. First thing I would recommend Pep is that you limit the number of pics per page so that poor bastards like me that are still on dial up don't have to wait too long for the pics to load.

Otherwise it's great. You sure as hell tell it as you saw it, that's for sure. Better be careful though, some people might not like to hear that at times.

The car at the back is Chad's Pontiac. He's a member of the Imperials. Looks like he's sorted out the small block install and got the car running. I know who owns the pickup, but I can't think of his name at the moment. I think it's Chad's father in law.

This coupe is mint. I spoke to him at last year's Tug in the Park. From memory it runs a 318 (or 360) and has a cool Chrysler steering wheel.

Aaaaah... on previewing my post, I see that the pics on this screen are much larger than what is visible on your website. This tells me that you have not resized the pics, but have shrunk them. Didn't I already talk to you about this once Pep?

It means the file size of the pics is larger than necessary and will make the page load slower. No charge for the advice either.

Imitation is the best form of flattery mate...and I did take your site as a good example...As far as the resize...yeah I did resize them. They are the same as all my other pages..I do, however, have different versions of Frontpage on my home PC and work PC and there is one big conflict when I download with one and upload with the other. I have dial up at home as well and yeah it does time out. That's why I have the words on top so while your reading its still downloading the pics. I did think of having another page but I couldn't see the logic when all you have to do is hit refresh, which would still be quicker than opening a new page.....
My comments on peoples cars are always complimentary..or that was my intention......As far as organisers, well I think I have the right to say what I think, especially if I paid good money for less than what was expected.

Hi Pep, some great photos there. Didn't take too long for them to down load for me. Really shows how nice the grounds were there.

As far as the Cowra run, well at least we know were to go in 2006 - Narrandera. Some of our club members went there and had an absolute ball.

cheers,

Pep, great work,

good to see some other cars , ones that I havent seen before. I really do like the intro and the captions. I personally think this makes the site, its the same with magazines.

Its just a pet hate, but I like to know something about the car, not just a collage of photos without any info, I know alot of other rodders feel the same.

I guess that is why you see just as many rodders peaking into engine bays as on their hands and knees trying to scope the underside - nose buggers we are

That's why I try to put a caption with every pic on my website, although... if I don't know anything about the car it doesn't stop me making some kind of comment.

The old "Why let the truth get in the way..." adage is well represented on my website.

hence why your style of website suits me too

it would be good if some mags took the time to present stuff the same way

I don't know but I reckon it's a good thing to let others comment about what they know about cars and their owners. Then maybe later Pep can update his site with this information.
Would make it more interesting and more interactive than what you see in mags.
BTW after lurking here for some time I finally signed up after Brootal posted a picture of my rod describing it as a gokart
Couldn't let him get away with that one could I

No. I said it probably handles like a Go Kart. That was a compliment... sorta.

Now don't go clouding the issue with facts.
