Hi all,

Just a quick intro as I'm new to all this. I'm currently building a T bucket which will run NSW restricted rego (which will hopefully still exist when finished). It's running a rammed 302W, C4 and 9". All chassis work, wiring and paintig is finished, only final buff on body then off to the trimmers within the month.

I have also recently purchased a 1955 Buick 2dr Special from a mate. It has just gone thru rego with a "70 vette 454, t400 and 9", runs really well and with an all up weight of only 1720kg, suprises a lot of people off the line.

Cheers and beers, Jimbob

G'day Jimbob (you're not one of the Waltons are you )
Welcome to HRI.

Sounds like the bucket is real close to being complete, so you'll still come under the SRC's old guidelines.
The new ones haven't been signed off yet but I believe they're not all that different. Still it would be nice to start a project with some certainty.
But don't worry I think this scheme will be around for quite some time.

What part of NSW you from?

Living in Canberra now , but was living in Sylvania when I started the Bucked, so I was in "THE SHIRE" as you guys call it for some time. The Buick is a shire local, Flarety imported it about '97 and was built in Taren point, Andy's had a bit to do with it.

Ah, The Shire to Canberra.
Dullsville to Dullsville less 10 degrees.
I nearly made a similar move a couple of years ago but was talked out of it by the wife.
Itís round this time of year that Iím glad she did too.
Question
Why would you bother with limited rego when under the new national guidelines thereís a possibility that you may be able to get full rego?
The definition of what is a reproduction chassis may get you but itís worth a try.
One of the things that put me off moving there, apart from the frosty conditions (the wife included), was that because they didnít have a club scheme I would not be able to register my car.

I've had a look at the new guidelines but I think the chassis requirements get me, pretty sure it falls into ICV catagory. Someone I spoke with said by using a T truck chassis it would be possible for full rego? It's that close to done now to do any major chassis mods, and I;ll be selling not long after completion, too freakin cold down here for no roof, and cant fit snow chains under the cycle guards

Brootal, I'd help Chocco nock back a few but Queenbyanne is a bit like the Bronx . Think my wife works in the same building as his sister? should find out where he is and check out his coupe. Could also do with a fresh set of eyes over the Bucket, see what I've missed.

Cheers and beers, JIMBOB [/quote]

Choco's in Jerrabomberra (best name ever for a suburb I reckon). Just get close to the suburb and listen for the sound of the fridge door opening and closing every few seconds. You should also be able to hear "pirate like" noises i.e. Aaaaaargh.... where'd I put that bleedin' spanner.... and Aaaaargh.... you little scallywag...

That'll be Choco.
