I just recieved an email which made my day, week, and month. Late 2000 my old man handed over the keys to our '33 roadster at Ballarat Rod run. A deal was struck and we got our new play thing, the 32 roadster. A couple weeks later i found the 33 up for sale again on Hot Rod Hotline, it was now in Arizona. Everyday for the next couple weeks i checked Hot Rod hotline to see if it was sold, and for some reason it was now in California. Fast forward a few months and a german couple were on holiday at scottsdale Calif, lookin for a 33 and bought ours. Here are a couple photos:

This is what it looked like a couple weeks before we sold it.

This is it when arriving in Germany. I dont know how it got hit but my guess is in the Container. Ouch! icon_cry.gif
After that little incedent, the new owner decided to give her a spray, but looks more like a rebuild to me. A new Donk, mustang SBF, new dropped axle, Converted to left hook, new grille, and a new set of wheels.

Here it is before new paint. It was black 2 pac when we had it, dunno if it still is now.
After that was all done, they decided to give it a little brighten up. Torch the sucker!

Looks good now! The only way you can tell it was ours is cause it has spears between the body and guards. They kept our interior as it was only done a couple weeks befor e we sold it, but they done a rumble seat. It was too much of a resto rod when we had it, rode like a new car and was as quiet as one too. I think i have a new ultimate hot rod![/url]

He got rid of the polished Americans for a set of (what looks like) Dragway Halibrand copies???

It looked pretty good before, but it looks GREAT now. Good to see it's gone to a good home.

Actually Brootal, i dont think he got the americans in the first place. The wheels on it now look like either ET's or Mehelik or however you spell it. I will set up a page of all the photos i recieved later. Heres a pic of it with the wheels they bought it with(i think) and its new black paint job.

I thought it looked like it had steelies in the pic where it's pranged.

I reckon if he put the Americans back on it would look even better. I don't think those wheels are ETs.

I'm pretty sure these are ETs...

Hmmmm... maybe they are ETs...

Yep, They're ET111(et3's) But the wheels on the roadster also look similar to these:

Note how the rim on the Mehelich has no step and is one flat, while the ET and most other mags have steps for clearance and for the tyre.

They look like Mehelich genuine knock on wheels. Rare as rocking horse poo and worth a lot more than common old Americans.

So why didn't you buy it when you had the chance?

These are ETIIs rel ETs are magnesium and don't shine like this. These are the late model repros. And yes they are not the same as the wheels on the 'roadster.

Anywhere in Oz to get some ETiii's? I've been in love with these wheels since American Rodder featured a '46(?) coupe with them stuffed under the rear eons ago.
