Has anyone got info on putting an L300 front end under a Fargo. I'm looking for easy handling with wide tyres. What about a Lx torana steering column and box mated to the rack of the L300. Any suggestions most welcome!

Dunno if you've bought the front end yet. But I would have a preference for a complete Jag front end. Ron's silver F100 runs one and it rides and steers beautifully and requires a minimum of alterations to fit.
Another friend Allan is fitting one to a 37 Ford Ute and I saw the f/e sitting in the back of his pick up as it came from the wreckers.
Hard to beat.

Fargo, I,ll go with Greg on the Jag F/e. I had set my 38 Chev for L300,and have ditched it for a Jag unit, with it,s power steering, ended up being a breeze to fit,got so excited, have now gone to matching Jag rearend, would suggest looking at one and how they are mounted, then take a tape measure to your chassis, the upper shocker mounts are the only extra issue ................... Frank, I thought I had digital video of Peter of Hoppers Stoppers he has jag under his 36chev sedan. But unfortunately I have gone over it I'll chase peter up and get some more details off him as last time I saw him he had the 36 off the chassis and was make a new sub frame for the jag unit (a bit like a X frame )

I'll get hold of him, so the front end went in we enough?
I'll have to pop over and take some pics of it, soon I'll have a new mbike in the next couple of weeks so travelling around will make it easier for me.

Frank what is the ride height like?, I did have a comment a while ago that if I ran leaf springs on the reaer I wouldnt get the rear down low enough, but I am curious about the front end.
still cut'en messing around with the roof of the chev hope in the next couple of weeks I'll be finished and start on the doors just work is eating into my rod building time. But its starting to look great I had to take half an inch out of the roof on each to lower the curve of the roof to take bubble roof out it looks awesome. Also the A pillars will have about 1.5 taken out this weekend so an overall lowering of the front is currently at 4.5inches but it doesnt look letter boxed.

I can get the ride height measurements for you Dave,I will take it at present from the leading edge of the running boards,as I have not fitted up a new crossmember for the radiator support, and at the moment do not have the weight of the engine/front panels into play,I am confident that all should look ok ,I intend to use lower profile tyres also, than the larger units I have on at present ,which are the wheels and tyres off the donor Jag................Frank.
