Got a sidevalve 8 with a cusso 3 speed bolted up behind it, but has no shifter or linkages. Does anyone know what is best to use or adapt for floor shift?

Cheers and beers

Ahh, that brings back memories. In my 27 T roadster, I had a 292 and 3 speed cusso. I made my own gearshift. It wasn't difficult. In think I used some bits from a Holden Speco-Thomas EH shifter, and copied the basic principal. It ended up a bit sloppy, but did the trick.
I reckon you could modify a 3 speed vertical gate shifter without too many hassles. I've seen plenty of them for sale at swap meets at reasonable prices.

More memories,in my old Cussos I used Impala in line shifters. As Choco stated you can adapt others, usually the only differences are the mounting plates, length of rods.Depending on how much of a hurry you are in,have a look at Falcon/Holden units if they are still available from Auto outlets.I recall my factory Charger shifter crapping out,and replacing it with a Speco Shifter from an XW-XY Falcon after modding it.Nothing is impossible...........Frank.

Don't think so. It's usually held in conjunction with the American Car Nationals, which is held in October. The Qbn showgrounds is also under construction, many old buildings demolished, so I dunno whether anything is going on there.......[disclaimer] but I could be wrong [/disclaimer]
