It seems to me that there speedos aplenty that'll do the job and look great, but they read in MPH. When metrification came in, there were a heap of speedo convertors around. No, I don't mean the cardboard replacement dial, I mean the little in-line 1.6 to 1, geabox that made the speedo read in KPH (and the odo read in k's too). What about one of these? I am sure they are still available. Try CRS or similar.

Frank,
What was the outcome as I'm about to start cuttin holes in the dash for airvents and set up my dash on the 37, Have wandered the wreckers and due to our Wet season would not trust anything from these guys.......... Like the white faced gauges, Leaning towards VDO/similiar speedo and mooneyes auxillaries....
Cheers Franky

Franky,I have actually purchased the VDO programmable speedo and sender from Bursons, under the rodder discount scheme, the $4 key way from the speedo drive gear to the sender I picked up from Howard instruments in West Heidelberg .Vic..The other gauges I am using are Speco items purchased from Burson,s also.I am yet to drill the dash and fit it..At the moment it is a nice clean blank...................Frank

As an update on the previous,Franky,I am home from work, and have checked the rcpts. The speedo is a 100mm unit[the alternative is 80mm].conventional in appearance, black face with red needle, 200kph .the odometer segment is an lcd display ,the item is calibration programmable simply by driving over a measured klm,and resetting.[great for tyre profile changes or diff ratio]The VDO p/n 437-015-029 .$222 inc GST.[TRADE OR DISCOUNT PRICE].The speed sensor 5mm/lug m22x1.5 p/n340-808 was $94.60 inc GST.[am using t350 box],the other item $4,is a keyway adaptor, from the speedo drive gear to the sensor which has a slot drive ,the p/n I will try and locate, these can be made any way ...............Frank

I am still struggling with cost Frank, these TPI gauges sound great www.tpigauges.com at US$270+$30(gearbag sender) for the neat lookin Quads n speedo, and why is it 5 VDO gauges with senders in white or gold are $269US from www.southernrods.com. ................ Just bought a copy ofUS StreetRodder with cool Chrysler Airflow on front cover

Yes Franky,I started looking at cost also, after deciding to ditch the original concept I had being an early 80,s Toyota Corolla instrument panel.fitted to a fabricated dash.I changed to fitting selected individual gauges and started hunting,in the US mags" Dolphin' instruments appear to have a reasonable price structure. In the end I just bit the bullet and purchased speedo [vdo].as per my prev post on this thread,Speco have an appealing price structure on their gauges,so I purchased them. I understand they are exploring the possibility of adding a speedo to their range.Burson,s down here are parts distributors for the auto industry and are participants in the rodders discount scheme ,that helped keep my costs down..............Frank.
