Just got back from picking up some more stuff from the old mans for the roadster. Man he has some shit, grabbed some flattie stuff from up the back of the shed, don't think he seen me . Any one know much about LUNDBERG & SON finned alloy heads, 24 stud, and MILDREN alloy twin carb inlet . Heads and inlet are in really good condition, with very little corrosion in the water jackets. Yes I have picks and will try and post them tomorrow.

Cheers and beers

Just surfin the net and did a search on Mildren. Came up with a bloke in the 50's and 60's racing scene, won the 1960 Australian Grand prix. Into saabs and european stuff, still a dealership in Melbourne with the same name name. Could this be the same bloke?

You could try to get some info & history by posting pics on Hamb, if nobody on here can tell ya!

I'd say LUNDBERG & SON was an Oz based company, I Think Waggot Cams made heads also.

company out of sydney in the 50-60 have an intake, they mostly sold boat stuff as there was more action in boat racing than car stuff at the time, plus seemed most Aussie blokes wanted the yank stuff as it fitting into their perceptions of what was happening on the other side of the pond.

havent heard of the intake tho, would like to see a pic if you could email me one.

Flatoz, Carps and a bloke from Sydney (QQMOON) answered my questions on the HAMB forum on Friday. Seems the heads were made by a bloke in Tempe sydney, apperently still alive, pretty rare, and the inlet manifold was made by Alec Mildren in Vic, same bloke in the link I posted previously. Someone on the HAMB also posted a link to some early Aussie rodding article which showed a '34 coupe with Lundberg & son heads. Was on HAMB under sidevalve heads and my name, Jimbob.

Cheers and beers

HAMBS to big to get onto overhere, the monkeys in the back room cant peddle that quick

what sort of condition are the heads in as most have a pretty bad case of corrosion, but ANYTHING can be fixed

Heads are in real good condition and have near no corrosion in the water jackets. As I work at the War Memorial in aircraft and vehicle conservation, I'm gonna put them in our electrolisis bath and really clean em up. Shouldn't need any thing else, except the built flattie to stick em on .

Will go back through the hamb tonight and post the address for the site with the reference to the heads.

Cheers and beers,
Jimbob

Cool. I might be in Canberra next Thursday. I should drop in. I've been to the War Memorial before, it's great.

I'll keep you posted.

I was going to drop in and visit Choco, but he's pissing off to go and get pissed with his sailor mates. Rude, fat, bald, loud bastard!

Probably still try to drop in and take some spy shots though.

(Nice hijack eh?)

Look for the reference to Lundberg heads on the channeled 34
