If you take me for a ride around the block I'll give you rego!!

And this is the mighty mountain of metal

Cool ride
Are they gray motor carbs?
If I have my Chev done & you're up here for the Nats we could have a Jalopy Showdown 29 Ford Vs 29 Chev

HP? oodles... all 40 hp, on a good day!

You betcha, no screen, no indicators, no belts, no worries.

I must confess, it's progressed, it now has a screen, indicators, a real bullet hole with '36 tin and soon to have belts...

Yep, two maybe excessive, but I reckon it looks the part.

Duellin Jalopies, sounds like a deal, I'm arrangin to have it ready and drive it up from Melb for the nats!
I could swing past you're place and we could have a Jalopy Jaunt to the Nats, it'd take 3 times as long as Chainsaw Bob's. It just makes for 3 times the fun!!

Oh yeah, the bit I forgot to mention, I paid 50 bucks for the whole car, and the year was 2002! not 1962. It's my first attempt....

That sounds like a deadline I'm going to have to brave the 7 degree heat umm cold at night and get going on it.

I bought some 1.2 mm flat steel from the tip yesterday that's from the local trailer building joint and is prefolded and perfect for me doors.

I've got the basic floor structure cut and just needs some tacking together. If I pull me finger out I could have the body done in a fortnight!

Here is my setup for the Chev, uses dual gray motor carbs also

It will be running this '29 Chev OHV Straight 6 with that custom manifold I posted above.

I will build some extractors and use a Model A torque tube as the exhaust with a removable baffle!
Unbolt 6 bolts and it'll be opened!

The biggest hurdle will be trying to find suitable brakes to adapt:cry:

I'll make this brief, cause it's late an I've gotta get up for work
tomorrow... Crying or Very sad

Jimmy yeah that's my bucket in Newsledder 44, Don't worry about takin
over the thread, it's no skin off my nose Razz BTW kool engine choice

I've got a few more pics, I'll post some more and scan some of the day
we picked it up.

It cost me twice as much in fuel to pick the car up as it did to pay for it,
We scored a hot lunch from the folk at the farm, and a tour of some of
other stuff around the place, like a grey motor running a Genny.
It was a 16 hour day, that one, but all worth it!! This car has so many
stories attatched to it, I'd have to take over the forum to tell them all.

I'd known about the car for a while (I don't forget when I hear about
somthing) A friends Dad had it. but didn't think it would be for sale, and I
wasn't in a position to pick it up. Any way a friend of mine kept telling me
about a chassis which he reckoned I would love, an A model, with the
ridgy engine/running gear, just with twin carbs and extractors,
well I went round and had a look, and asked if he would sell it, he said
yes, if I could get a body, well I was on the ph that night, and tracked
down th ph no for this car, the following saturday it was in my mates
driveway!
During the week he said a coupla hundred bucks, on the friday, he said, $50, on Sat he said, "look I'd just as soon give it away, but for your
sake call it $50 so that money has changed hands", I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough!!!
I then sold the chassis and some extra bits to a mate in the club who was
hard up and wanted a model A for 50 bucks.

Between picking the car up and taking it to the nats was about 6 months.

So much for a short one, more pics next time.

Oh yeah, BCal, I've got some goggles, but I need some 'corective lenses'
so they don't really work for me. Havta keep an eye out for a skull
cap!
