i Scored a box full of old car magazines yesterday (absolutely immaculate condition too),
Performance street car no 1 (1985) to 1991;
street machine: issues 5,6,8,9,etc,etc up to 1991;
van wheels 2 and 5 aswell.

I got them for nothing but because im so nice i insisted on giving the bloke a bottle of rum to say thanks, they are worth more im sure.

Now, not that i buy street machine anymore, but its good to have all the collection of the early years, just for old times sake.
Im only missin issues 3 and 4 now...

As for rodders Journal, i need 5-13! now where am i gunna find them...

There was also a couple of issues of Super Street Magazine,
one in particular that had on the cover:
A red FJ two door hardtop owned by "greg Wilson" at the time.
has 56 desoto bumpers and headlights,
I think it just reappeared at the custom nationals,
I think i read that in newsledder.
Anyway, its very cool...
And about the magazines, i just had to boast.....what a score!

That sucker hasn't stopped driving ever since it got built! The current owner drove it to perth this year for the nats. A real piece of Aussie automotive history in my opinion, i think it used to be black and wasnt chopped (but still two-doored and hard topped)., then got chopped and re sprayed by TCR years ago.

1-8 are sold out so you probably will struggle. Try Graffiti Books.......

Is that the shop with the Hot Rod stuff in their shop front?? They had a few issues of TRJ, but dont count on getting anything rare, as it looks like they get their stuff through Graffiti, so try them first.

Pretty sure Graffiti only has 14 or 15 onwards.

Issues 1-4 were re-released as a Hard cover limited edition volume 1.
I am assuming once they are sold out they will release Volume 2, which will be 5-8 most probably.

So that only leaves issues 9-13 unavailable.

No idea mate. I don't really buy TRJ. Call them!

http://www.techbooks.com.au/

Judging by a quick search on their web addy, they have back to #8., but then they're $33 each, so better off buying from Larry.

Wheels of time don't have any of the earlier ones, I think they only have from 8 on. Have spoken to them awhile back about the prices some of the earlier issues are going for. If youre real lucky you might find some at a swap meet.

This is for Mr 34, I received a box of old car mags not long ago from a guy in WA. The box had about 200 car mags in it, ranging from old Street Machine's, old Custom Rodders and Performance Street Car the box of mags only cost me 50 bucks!
When I got to the bottom to the box I nearly fainted, because what was siting there was Street Machine issue one, the one were SM and Van wheels merged, in mint condition. I was very happy because I am a big collector of SM.

It's just great to know that many car buffs are getting more mags to read and gettin ideas from.

Was built in the early 70s by John Comber and sold to a very young 'Nifty' Neville Haynes around 1970. The body work was so good it wore a stunning black paintjob which showed off how perfectly straaight the body was. The two door conversion was stunning and it had a stock height top, stock grille and Chevy tailamps tunnnelled into a rear rolled pan.

Nifty showed it for a couple of years beforre he sold it to Butch who rebuilt it including the top chop and Desoto grille. Butch drove it for quite a while before selling it. As I understand it, the next owner didn't look after it too well and it fell into disrepair before being purchased by the current owner, who loves it to death and drives the wheels of it.
