But there's been a change of plans.
A blokes coming round on Sunday to look at the alfarod
Brett.

Do I get the drift that your selling the Alfa Rod Bret? and getting a more "family" type rod with more room and doors and a roof

Geez Pep for guy with an average of 1.01 posts per day you're a bit off the ball

Yep the alfarod is currently seeking a new home. Orders from da Fuhrer!
No rod fleet! icon_cry.gif Besides I don't have the room.
She doen't know it but I plan to start building another one next year and so the Chevy will fill the gap just nicely till I finish it and by then the kids will have grown up.
That's the plan anyway

Yeah I'm a bit off the game some times....I guess it will be sad to see your creation go out the driveway without you in it...but at least you will always be given credit for it no matter who's driving it....

Good luck Brett, sometimes the best laid plans go astray, my sedan ended up being a pick up ,after what was supposed to be a quick project started over 19 years ago,I had to change tack as the kids had grown ,and two of us would end up with two large sedans[already driving 46 Merc] what do you have in mind for the Chev?.............Frank.

You're right about plans goin astray mate. When I left Melbourne I swore I'd never live in a big city again. The one day I woke up and found myself living in shit hole
I "plan" to keep the chev pretty much as it is. Just got back from picking her up today and it drove real well. No rattles or anything and sits real nice on the highway. Tho she does wollow a bit too much on the bends for my liking, so a bit of suspension tweaking may be in order.
The rest of the car is finished off real nice and the engine runs sweet
Tho the alternator bracket broke just outa Lockhart

Hi Brett, good to see the Chev made it home,is it a resto or rodded?.I must agree with P EP,S comment on your roadster, after reading the magazine feature,it is one helluva unique vehicle, one that despite a colour change new wheels, upholstery and new plates, that a new owner goes through to shake off the "that,s so and so,s old rod" .This vehicle would be very hard to disguise...........Frank.

Very much a hotrod Frank.
And with the 40 headlights and frenched indicators it may qualify as mild custom.
Haven't found the chassis no yet. Did find a number that runs verticle up the chassis in the location you suggested, but looks more like a build date 1-25-39. 25th of Jan 39.

Looks good Brett, the #,s I located are in a horizontal plane, the previous sequence you quoted on the papers had to be somewhere visible, for the rego authorities.,when I cut the ends off my chassis rails to facilitate the Jag f/e installation I did find some smaller neat #,s on the cutoff section, that appeared to be some sort of date batch code for the rails, these were in no way visible on an assembled vehicle, the #s Ihave on the side of the l/h rail have to be redefined,as they can only be read properly with a magnifying glass to make out the #,s as they are shallow...........Frank
