Antique Tyres have them but they cost more than you paid for the car.

Yeah,ok. I never did get a pair for myself yet. I'll go and check them out tommorrow. Driving my roadster to work today reminded me that Ballarat has such great weather in winter.

Outback, now thats a hotrod. I bet you get comments like "jeez they don't build em like that anymore".

Just one question, it looks like you have mechanical brakes on that there ole jalopy. Am i right, just curious.

Rego would have been easy no engineers cause of lack of mods.

Nice Work, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Cheers Devilrod,

Henry Ford once wrote, "There's nothing like the feeling of steel, between the pedal and the wheel"

Good spotting, yeah, Mech brakes, they stop ok, pull up straight, like any old car, it can't compete with disc's all round, but that's ok.

Late one night in Melb last trip, I was pulling into a servo, when a member of the local constabulary went past, no sooner had I pulled up at the bowser, the Patrol car pulled up beside me,

Anyway the copper jumped out and said "I saw you drive in here, and I just had to come back and have a look!!" He then spent the next 10 minutes walking around the car and telling me how much I liked it. Asked how easy it was to get rego, how it went etc etc. He was surprised I had indicators, and then appologised when he messed up some of the mud on one of the cycle guards, saying "oops I surpose that was suposed to be there!!" It was great! He also said "I want one!!"

Rego was no worries (well after I had the plates in my hot little hand) I'd never regoed a car this old, and really didn't know what to expect!! But it all went smoothly.

The car is down your end of town Devilrod, kinda (Pakenham).

It'll be at Johns Picnic.

Was that car at the Geelong Nats ('03) without a back on it? I remember a clapped out jalopy putting around the cruising track with a bearded bloke driving it.

So is it a roadster or a roadster pickup? Can't tell from those pics you posted.

Yep its a roadster pickup, yup I was at Geelong Nats '03 it was the first outing for this 'clapped out jalopy'.

At the nats it had just this flat tray, I didn't have time for anything else, it made for a good seat over the weekend.

Brootal I'm dissapointed the "Rodrider (R)" hasn't ridden in the ole bomb.... icon_cry.gif

I don't think you stopped cruising long enough for me to jump on! Besides, I was too busy cruising around in all those show cars, you know, the ones with shiny paint.

Plus, you looked scary.

orr come on, I'm not that scary, really! I was workin flat out on the car, no time to shave the beard!!
My A is a show car, it won 2nd place in the 'original ute class' in a Ute show down there some time back, as for shiny paint, my grill shell is shiny, that is under the water stains from the radiator!!

Next time hehehe
