I got this EK 4years ago for fitty bucks! thats right $50. I've got a HR drum brake frontend to rebuild & put under it, cut the rust out and do the general repair & replacing.

I know of about 6 or 7 other potential projects around my area but I can't buy any more as I have too many now icon_cry.gif

Details please, but only if they're worth trailering to Sydney... can't believe someone would even bother taking 50 off you, why not just give it away?

There are a couple of 39 Dodge sedans where I bought my Chev running gear from, they are pretty good but I didn't really look at 'em they need to be rodded as they are original. There is a EK-FB wagon sitting in a shed on the way to town still got the original pink paint, don't know any more about it but has been sitting for awhile, then there is the 37 Chev ute and sedan body that I'm seriously thinking of getting & using the sedan floor under the yoot as yoot is rooted.

You being 900 odd kays away you might be better off finding something that is closer but keep these in mind if you can't.

Almost forgot over at Lismore there are about half a dozen 1930s cars sitting behind a building but I haven't gone in and looked at 'em. I have a general idea of what's in the area.

What in particular are you looking for SRVLIVES?

There still must be a lot of cars stashed about . "pick pay n, go" in Ringwood has a pre 70,s area, and there always seems to be stock, early 70,s Toranas, hr,hk ht hg Holdens, some fb,s ek,s some valiants ,Falcons, british and jap stuff, they are picking them up from somewhere .There was a nice clean 66 Vauxhall Viva which gave me my near new Pedders gas shocks for my Jag f/e. For most part the bodies of the vehicles are rusty, but still, many panels are usefull,I wonder what is lying around on properties in the backstreets of country towns[the streets we never see as we drive through on the main road]. This summer I plan a day trip of nostalgia to North Eastern Victoria,to visit a back road that had a property with a line up of Customlines [a 55 was under cover in an old shed, front wheels up on ramps]that I found 28yrs ago,the place appeared abandonded,I journeyed through the property as part of a right of way to get to a mountain for a radio system I worked on,the stuff may be long gone or still there, but worth a look on a nice day.......Frank.

Up until a few years ago, me and my brother used to take his little daughters around town (Seymour) spotting minis. You could never see these things by driving past at normal speeds, but slow crusing yielded about 7 or 8 spread around down driveways, beside sheds, in front of other cars.........they're there, you just can't see them! Our looking even resulted in a few freebies and friendships along the way.

FX to HR Holden, XR to XY Falcon (possibly earlier models) early 60's Chevys, got a lead on an FX rolling shell (thanks hoted) but needs a little more work than I'm interested in. Looking for something that needs panel and/or mechanical work done (I knows people ) but is not a POS. I'm partial to an EH-HR as I have a 179 and powerglide that's doing nothing, but really am just looking for something with potential.

I can't narrow the field anymore than that, after 33 years I just can't pick one!

Another way is to spread the word out to "non car'' workmates,I had some 4wd/camping enthusiasts talking about their trip to southwestern NSW,during the mid 80,s where they came across a "ghost town",some old buildings yielded letters and documents from ww1,but my ears pricked up when "old trucks and cars with spoked wheels were just lying around".Outside the car fraternity is where the good leads come from,if you get leads from car enthusiasts,it is usually after the goodies are picked over...........Frank.

One thing I have noticed when looking thru the adverts in various publications, there always seems to be more stuff available in Victoria, and usually at a more reasonable price.

So, the tax man has been good to me... so while it may not be a rod, my first ride will be a classic nonetheless!

SRVLIVES, I know of a 68 buick, 4 door pillarless for sale. Looks like its had a 6" roof chop but is stock. 440 BB, power everything, Factory black. Needs some work but is regoed and would look the shit dumped. Has white walls, reasonable trim. Drove this car to work in canberra every day for two years and made the trip to Bright rod run. Super reliable. $2000.

And its got those big finned brakes everyone's after. Hhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, should buy it back myself

Cheers and beers

Thanks Jimbob, but may be more car than I can handle (visions of Toad reversing into someone at the stoplight drags flood thru my head)

Looking at a HR, more my size, and I've had some experience with Holden 6's
