Ive just purchased a 28 chev pickup. You ebayers may have seen it last week, V6 comode/T700, HT front end, basically a complete car except for the doors. (If anyone has a pair of doors let me know).
Im gunna store it for a few years keeping in mind my 6yo son wants his own hotrod one day, and besides, it was only $1000 complete so I couldnt go wrong.
The problem is, I havn't told the wife yet, and she keeps saying that one car has to go before another comes home. So whats the easiest way to break the news?
Ive thought about just taking parts home piece by piece, but thats gunna take a while and in the meantime its sitting down the back of my factory.

Now this topic will sure as hell bring out some bulldust excuses Im sure.

Stic it in the back of the shed, behind a couple of boxes and when she notices and asks the question, just tell yer it was there when you moved in.

Oh dear
You know, deep down they love it when you're in the shit coz you've gotta work hard to make it up to them.

Fess up, tell her the truth. You're a useless boofhead who wouldn't survive in the real world without her.
Then get her some flowers and book a table for two at her favourite restaraunt.
I hope you factored this into the price you paid for the car.

Hey Mr Cool I got the best excuse for you!

When shes not home take it apart and loosely bury it in the back yard.
When she gets home tell her your gunna dig a hole and say u found a
Hot Rod buried in the backyard.

Just tell her its a mates, which you are only going to store short term, when a month or two pass and the Misses has sort of kind of accepted it as being there ............ Your mates circumstances hit the skids icon_cry.gif and you can have it for a carton, icon_razz.gif When the Misses has seen what a bargain it is, your gigglin all the way to the shed..........

If she doesnt visit the factory very often your set!!

just bring piece buy piece home, BUT do this after a swap or say a bloke traded you some parts then over a 56 month period ( seems your not in a hurry to start work on the thing) next thing you know you have it all home!

but what ever you do dont piece the bloody thing together! Women ( my wife anyway) cant make heads nor tails of rusted pieces of junk (( her expression not mine!)) but she shore as shit would look at that and there would be words...

All of which I constantly ignore...

Can't you just sneak the pieces in bit by bit and put them up in the shed? Seriously we all have the same problem. I finally bought another FC Wagon on the basis that I would sell the XY Wagon, but I really like it too and don't want to. Luckily it is the only one going with a towbar for the moment so it is safe for a short time.

I have a couple of 25-26 doors here you could borrow which I believe are the same except they are plain (have no beaded press lines). They would be very easy to remake as they are pretty much square but I would add a few inches as they are extremely short, plus get the beads rolled in to match your cowl!

You can tell her that you have picked up an "investment".If you have some old ads filed away ,show her the increasing prices of good tin.The stockpiling to supplement superannuation, may be the go..........Frank.

It's a bit like that joke where the guy who is continually coming home late from the pub slips off his shoes before entering the marital abode and once inside, tip toes off to bed, where SWMBO is sitting up arms folded with the rolling pin and steam coming out of her ears.
The advice is, as you open the front gate start singing the bawdest old sea shanty you know (see choco), then once inside yell out the your "in the mood" and head directly for the horizontal gym, sure as eggs, she'll be lying there contentedly fast asleep.

One piece at a time... Hmmmm.... I seem to remember Johnny Cash having something to say about that.

Not sure if you'll be able to see the photo as it's Geoshitties.

Otherwise, just cut and paste

Oddly enough, the guy that built the car was Bill Patch. Figures...
