Looking at a 308 motor the other day and it had the alternator down very low on drivers side, dude thinks it may of been a Torana item, Can anyone varify this, So I can hunt one down if so.
Cheers

Yep, that's where Toranas had em, but getting hard to come by originals now. Think someone is doing repro's though.
Used to have a VH commondoor that had alternator in same place but also had a/c compressor mounted above it. Could be worth investigating that avenue. Was blue 253 motor just in case you find too many different configurations

We fabricated an alternator bracket to fit within the A model engine bay, the crummydore was way too wide and high.
LH/LX torana ia about your only option if using factory stuff. BTW, although very rare, LX torana had aircon as factory option too. I'll see if I have a pic of my brothers LX torana factory aircon system for you. If not, I'll get one next time I see him.
Another one worth mentioning is the power steering, we used a magna pump with remote reservoir and mounted it where the mechanical fuelpump used to live.

Took a pic of the alternator setup on the tudor for you.
Its simply a piece of tube between the head and alternator, a fixed arm from front (top) of alt to water pump bolts, and adjustable arm from water pump bolts to lower mount of alt.
If the tube is correct length, it will line up perfectly with the drive belt.
Mine sits directly in front of the head, and will fit inside the engine bay with full bonnet, although Im not using the sides anyway.
