I recall reading that either Kalmaker or Megasquirt now offer a system that uses just TPS under a certain rev so you can run big cams and small phelumns...as in Hillborn or similar set ups.

With the squirt there is a code mod that allows the thing to switch to alpha N mode during acceleration. The problem is that with an erratic vac signal you need to dampen it with a restrictor. This tends to slow the signals response somewhat and cause lean out on hard accel.
I got the Alfarod to run nicely in closed loop with vacuum signals of just 75 to 90kpaAbsol. But to prevent it leaning out when I put the foot down the VE table ended up resembling a skate board ramp.
I got to run ok in all conditions so never tried the mod.

Why not try LPG, you can bolt an Impco 425 directly onto your Holley base plate. And think of the money that you will save.
And as far as horsepower, how much do you want?
There are guys out there who are getting more than they need with LPG.

Yes you may have a point there with the price of oil set to go thru the roof.
LPG would be something worth considering if you were building a new car but the cost of converting an existing rod would be too prohibitive when you consider the milage that most of us do.

Do you think this will work? 308-336 stroker with tunnel ram, remove top plenum, fabricate box to sit on top with 2x V6 throttle bodies out the front similiar to TPI set up.
This is LPG setup only so am looking at them baby basic mixers that the commodes use on the end of the throttle bodies, with a complex converter, Then later throw 2x (300ZX single turbo) turbo's on....... And finally is $50 per throttle body excessive.
Cheers..

I built a similar setup for a 308 quite a few years back, made up a top plenum to accept 4 x volvo 4cyl throttle bodies, two each side. Bob Fisher welded/machined in the bosses for the EFI injectors into the tunnel ram base.
Never got to finish it, sold it to a guy who set it up on LPG/EFI dual fuel in a HQ, but havnt seen it for a while now though.
There is a mob in Melb eastern suburbs who copied the basic design and manufacture them now for straight LPG. Cant remember who it was at the moment, but if I think of them I'll post it up here.

I'm not up to speed on LPG. Andrew (32Coupe) could probably help out there.
TPI setup is way different to GMH type throttle bodies. The TPI plenum mounts an oval throttle body at the front. The 1985 - 1991 TPIs have a Mass Air Flow sensor behind it. The GMH throttle bodies found on V6 commodores and such are small foorprint, 4 bolt flange. I've bought them for $5 at swap meets, but would pay up to $20 for the VN type. The later Ecotech types on VS commodes are the same bolt pattern but shorter, so they fit better in cramped spaces. Also, the TPS rotates in the opposite direction.
I have a 360 Mopar with a tunnel ram and 2 four barrel billet throttle bodies that have staged primaries and secondaries. If they weren't staged, they would flow too much air at off-idle and cruise. You could use 2 two barrel throttle bodies from a Chev V6 or V8 TBI (like those on C10s, and other V6 chevs) Lada Niva TBI, Lotus and a few others and use 2 to 4 barrel adapters available from Painless Wiring in the US for about $20 each.
