any advice, tips or tricks to selecting & installing a steering coloum in my 28 essex

Sorry,Essexman I asked a silly question to your post on the other theme,the column selection criteria I use is first do some measuring from dash to floor,then armed with tape measure,check wrecking yards for suitable donor compatability,the next step is the connection to the rack,in the simplest scenario,if you have an unobstructed line to the rack,ie ,no exhaust/starter /engine mount clearance issues,then it is a simpler job to use factory bolt up bits if possible[most steering columns can when taken apart can have the shafts seperated and reasembled with the lower shaft of for instance a Commodore,where you may be using a Toyota column ,to suit the use of the Commodore unis,the whole process involves a lot of measuring,also have a look at Pep,s posts on the progress of his steering set up and you will get a better idea..........Frank.
